Career Counselling
Most people spend more time at work than anywhere else in their lives. When that work genuinely fits, the environment, the pace, the way you're asked to think and contribute, it can be energising. When it doesn't, the gap between showing up and actually thriving can be significant.
Burnout isn't a personal failing. It's often what happens when the mismatch between who you are and where you are goes unaddressed for too long.
Career coaching at Lumina is about closing that gap. Understanding what you actually need from work, and building the self-knowledge, confidence, and advocacy skills to pursue it.
What Brings People Here
Career coaching isn't only for people in crisis. You might be thriving in some areas and struggling in others, considering a significant change, or simply ready to be more intentional about where your career is heading.
People commonly seek career coaching support around:
-
Burnout and workplace exhaustion
-
Career change or transition
-
Understanding your working style and strengths
-
Navigating a neurodivergent profile in the workplace
-
Disclosure decisions - when, how, and whether to share a diagnosis at work
-
Managing workplace relationships and dynamics
-
Building self-advocacy skills
-
Returning to work after a break
-
Finding direction and clarity about what comes next
A Neurodivergent-Affirming Space
Workplaces are largely designed around neurotypical norms, and neurodivergent professionals often spend significant energy adapting to environments, communication styles, and expectations that don't naturally fit. That adaptation is exhausting, and it rarely gets acknowledged.
Career coaching at Lumina starts from a different place. Not how to fit better into the existing mould, but how to understand your own working style, identify environments where you can genuinely thrive, and advocate effectively for what you need.
What to Expect
Your first session is a chance to talk about where you are, your strengths, what's not working, and what you're hoping to move toward.
Ongoing sessions build from there, exploring patterns, strengths, and practical strategies tailored to your specific situation and goals.
Sessions are 50 minutes, in person or via Telehealth.
